Mohamed Salah: “I’m confident that I’ll be in Russia”

Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah has posted online that he is expecting to be fit for the World Cup next month.

The Egyptian forward, who has netted 32 times this season, was forced off after thirty minutes of the Champions League Final against Real Madrid on Saturday. Salah was brought down by Madrid defender Sergio Ramos in the final in Kiev, and left the field in tears with doubts rising over the length of his injury.

However, Salah has taken to Twitter to appreciate the support he has received, while commenting on his World Cup future.

“It was a very tough night, but I’m a fighter,” Salah tweeted.

“Despite the odds, I’m confident that I’ll be in Russia to make you all proud. Your love and support will give me the strength I need.”

The Reds winger holds the record of the most goals scored in a single Premier League campaign.
