Jose Mourinho ‘waiting for Zinedine Zidane to leave Real Madrid’
Jose Mourinho is reportedly eyeing a return to Real Madrid with the Portuguese maintaining a strong relationship with Los Blancos president Florentino Perez from his time at the club.
Mourinho has been without a position since being sacked by Manchester United in the latter stages of 2018.
According to AS, the former Porto head coach has elected not to take over a club thus far as he is waiting to see what happens with Zinedine Zidane at the Bernabeu.
Madrid have made a positive start to the new La Liga campaign – collecting four points from their two matches. That said, the capital giants did drop points at home to Real Valladolid on Saturday night.
The club’s failure to secure a deal for Manchester United’s Paul Pogba is said to be angered Zidane, meanwhile, with the Frenchman reportedly already considering his future despite only just returning for a second spell in charge.
Mourinho, who led Madrid to the 2011-12 La Liga title, has been working as a pundit since leaving United last year.
