Arsenal are preparing to finally make a move for Dusan Vlahovic, the Juventus striker who has long been on their radar. A report suggests the Gunners “could present an offer” next summer if Juventus fails to extend Vlahovic’s contract.
The Serbian forward has been a long-term target for Arsenal. Reports indicate that they are still closely monitoring his situation, especially as his contract will expire in 2025. Juventus will only sell if they cannot agree on a contract renewal, and they are expected to demand at least €70 million (£58m) for the striker.
Arsenal has been linked to several strikers recently. Current forwards like Gabriel Jesus have struggled for consistency, and while Kai Havertz has scored twice in five Premier League games this season, Arsenal feels a more prolific striker could complete their attack. Dusan Vlahovic remains a top candidate for that role.
In 2022, Arsenal expressed significant interest in signing Dusan Vlahovic, but Juventus managed to secure the striker from Fiorentina during the January transfer window. Though there were rumors that Arsenal made an offer, Juventus denied those claims. Now, with Vlahovic entering the final year of his contract next summer, Arsenal could finally make their move.
Juventus is keen to renew Vlahovic’s contract, but if talks stall, they will consider selling him. The club values the striker at a minimum of £58m, and Arsenal could be ready to meet that asking price.
Despite Vlahovic’s potential, some critics have questioned his consistency. Paulo Dybala and Edinson Cavani’s former agent, Claudio Anellucci, even labeled Vlahovic as “overrated.” However, Arsenal remains undeterred in their pursuit.
Dusan Vlahovic isn’t the only attacking option on Arsenal’s radar. The club is also monitoring Ivorian winger Bazoumana Toure, who has attracted interest from both Arsenal and Manchester United. Additionally, Arsenal is eyeing Florian Wirtz, though reports linking him to Liverpool have cooled, possibly giving the Gunners an edge.
Meanwhile, Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon looks unlikely to be an option for Arsenal, as his impending contract extension with Newcastle will make him one of their highest-paid players.
Since joining Juventus in 2022, Dusan Vlahovic has consistently proven himself as a capable goal-scorer. In his first half-season, he scored nine goals in 21 appearances for Juventus, after netting 20 times for Fiorentina earlier that same campaign. The following season, he added 14 goals in all competitions, followed by 18 goals last term.
This season, Dusan Vlahovic has already found the net twice in five games, contributing to Juventus’ strong start in Serie A, where they currently sit among the top five teams. Arsenal will closely watch his performance as they consider making him their marquee signing next summer.
