Christopher Nkunku has played down speculation linking him with a move away from Chelsea over his lack of minutes.
The French forward finds himself behind Nicolas Jackson in the pecking order under Enzo Maresca and has seen just 68 minutes of Premier League action since his solitary start on opening weekend, instead being forced to settle for opportunities in cup games and the Conference League.
Despite his limited role, Nkunku has still struck an impressive seven goals in 11 games, netting in every competition in which he has played at an average of one goal every 61 minutes.
Now away with the France squad, Nkunku was asked whether there was any truth to speculation he could return to boyhood side Paris Saint-Germain.
“PSG is still a big club,” he told Telefoot. “I’ve always said there has been no approach.”
Chelsea teammate Wesley Fofana, who has joined Nkunku in the France squad, took his opportunity in front of the media to heap praise on the former RB Leipzig star.
“When he plays as number 9, his finishing is incredible,” Fofana said. “I have rarely seen someone who finishes so well in front of goal.”
